          TO HIM

          You are miniature
          as far as what matters
          Shrinking like rivers
          without any rain
          or better yet
          like driving away
          from where you stand
          and watching you
          disappear
          into nothing

          AMENDS

I pad my lies with flesh
Cover up my past with pounds
          that make it appear
          inconceivable
Were you to ask me now
          I would ask you back
          if you were serious
          if you could fathom it
          at all believable
          I would aerobisize
          around the question
          as futile illusion
          would give credence
          to my diversion
It's not a yes or no
          situation
          that I respond to
          I am camouflaged
          in my own guilt
          and subconsciously
          stay in the safety
          of gentle deceit

GLORY GOLD OF AN ANCIENT RELIABLE

          Life floats away like suicide
          Tomorrow is an addition
          Today will be a mistake
          My breath escapes me
          like love
          With my eyes closed
I can make us happy again
          The taste of tears evaporate
          My blood fucks my veins
and dying is just a reason
          I can't deal with
