Ordinary

I despise having to
hunt people down
for information they
should have given me
three weeks ago.
I despise being caught
some place I don't
want to be, but
social convention
requires I remain.
Sure as shit,
that's how I wound up
here
tonight
overhearing
the enlightened
poetic
coffeeshop
cowboy.
"It really sucks
waking up,
feeling empty.
Sucks even more
if the guy
doesn't understand
why.
Hey, if I'm not
good enough for her.
well,
fuck her."

Maybe it's the
difference between the sexes, but
that sounds like
the same old
morning after
ordinary bullshit
to me.

Revolution Number 69738429

Every revolution needs a general...
cloaked and hidden,
protected,
sacred till revolt time
is at hand.
Number 9's still waiting.

Every revolution needs sheep...
lots and lots of sheep
to give the appearance of
masses.
People who believe
revolt time is here.
Jonestown was full of believers
willing to drink prophet Jimmy's
sweet cyanide
to find salvation.
Number 10's up to bat.
And just how crazy
is Charlie?
He's locked up on
association, you know.
Never ordered any murders,
never held a gun or knife,
merely suggested that
if a few white people died
and a few black people got blamed
and a few race wars broke out,
all the bigots would be gone
and the world would be a
better place. Anti-racism.
Wow, crazy concept, man.
Crazy enough to start a revolt
Crazy enough for his followers
to believe enough
to fire the sugar bullet.
We call his sheep murderers.
Number 11's watching.
Hitler had millions of sheep
who wanted to make
the world pure.
They valued blond hair,
blue eyes enough
to savor the offerings
of a brown haired,
brown eyed candyman.
The end justifies the means
when it's a matter of
faith
belief.
Number 12's biding time.
One thing that haunts me
about Timmy McVey...
is he a general or
just another sheep?
Oklahoma doesn't make sense.
Why not DC...
or a building without
a day care?
What did he
hope to gain?
What did the Unabomber
expect to accomplish
blowing up random citizens?
Was he starting a revolt
against deliverymen?
They believed in something
so much
they're willing to endure
the saccharine whip of
American Justice...
what was it?
And where are their sheep?
13 and 14 are in the wings.
Heaven's Gate mutilated bodies
for a belief in a comet tail,
a way to heaven and God.
The better life begins
with poison candy
in that flock.
Number 15 is in stasis.
Koresh's sheep burned.
They jumped into flames
as if it were a baptismal.
They believed enough
in the right to arms
to die.
How much chocolate
is a semi automatic
worth to you?
Number 16 is asleep.
No one wants to be
a sheep lead to slaughter
for an idea that
might not be right,
but
refuse these general's candy,
and you've joined the unbelievers -
that's revolution number 69738429
baaaaaa.
