Alan
Catlin
I'm saddened and shocked. I thought she was doing
better but reading between the lines of all the messages I'd seen from
her you can see she was putting up a brave front, a courageous
fight---We just lost the leading light of the local poetry scene here
from cancer also, a month ago, on the day there was a tribute to for
him; the tribute became a memorial.
Cait was one
of the good
people, so full of
energy and life and vision. I'll
never be able to look at something about
or by Bukowski again without
thinking of
her. It
may be the warmest feeling I'll ever have
with regard to him. Can't think too clearly now ---another light
in the poetry world has gone out.
cait
the telling
of your
death comes
as if from
a cold
mountain
as eternal
as it gets-
cancers
thought
to be in
remission
thrived
survived
complex
surgeries
aggressive
chemo
injections
transfusions
the awful
radiation
burns-
your leaving
burns so
much
so harsh
so harsh----
in your new
life the breast
augmentation
is complete
a vintage
bottle of
aromatic red
is yours
and all
the poems
you could ever
read could ever
wish for are free
and easy as
it goes
