If the old axiom "better late than never" generally applies to me, it's a different story this time around. I had originally scheduled TS #10 for publication sometime in mid-July, but--solely because of the hard work performed by my new co-editor and partner, Haze McElhenny--we're giving birth to it about a month and a half early.            Haze is an HTML dynamo of tremendous proportions--you can say little else of someone who can do 64 web pages in less than two days--and I thank her greatly for her good efforts. She is also art and graphic editor and will develop guidelines for submissions of those items.            And she and I will be collaborating on a photo/text section covering the Independence Day reading at Cat's Impetuous Books in Kent, Ohio. You can look for that sometime in July. We will very likely announce another significant collaboration in TS #11 this fall, and I look forward to a long and fruitful series of projects with Ms. McElhenny.            The face of TS is changing in more than one way. While most of the concentration will continue to be on poetry and prose, we're going to offer more art in future issues. Also on tap will be interviews in each issue and more reviews--the latter will be added in an ongoing fashion so as to create an archive of reviews in one location.            Thunder Sandwich will continue to showcase the work of up-and-coming writers and artists who have not appeared here in the past, while still working to maintain the stable of older, more established names. I've noticed that a few have tended to gravitate away recently, and that's OK too--in this little world none of us are irreplaceable. We all hate to see good writers drift off, but we'll be here when many of the fly-by-nighters are pushing up literary daisies. I wouldn't have acquired a domain otherwise.            We're always happy to correct any errors or problems you spot in your copy, but be nice about it. Being otherwise will only result in your stuff being yanked and your name put in the "screw you" basket. I've had to do that with a few people and it's not very pleasant, but since I don't sell anything I'm not required to kiss anybody's hindquarters. Also, don't try to make changes and re-writes to your material once its in place because that's an imposition as well, and one that won't be tolerated.            There are several other things in the work at this time that I can't discuss because they are not fixed at this time. Readers might check this page occasionally, as any updates between issues will be placed below.            Finally, my thanks and appreciation to all the contributors and to the other readers as well. Our primary goal is to publish a quality web journal worthy of the best talents out there. And if you look over the list of contributors, present and past, we've had our share of them since TS first appeared in 1983. Don't be surprised if you see more in the future.
