Astronomy For J Mars builds its little orange fire every night now. For 60,000 years it will be no closer. I can't even see that pretty moon that we've both been raving about lately, but cloudy-skied and bleary-eyed and sleepy I see that little spark of Mars. I feel that little spark of you. Doing your yardwork, being quietly you, edging always into the corners of my mind, the little light in my night sky a campfire on the periphery that warms me and I smile just to know it's there. You're probably getting ready to sleep. I'm tired too, but it's nice to know you're out there, a planet I love to visit. Your orange fire makes me smile like there's no tomorrow. Mars, what did I do without you? |
